Steak and Green Beans

Sounds a little boring, right? Sometimes the simplest of meals with the least ingredients are the comfort foods that one needs. This dish provides all the essentials without the fuss of multiple ingredients that can sometimes seem intimidating.
In every woman's arsenal of recipes, this simple meal should be included. There are few people I know of who do not like this classic combo of steak and green beans. One can add whatever starch one likes and make it the all-American classic. I chose to add left over gluten-free, low carb pasta with a little olive oil, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to my dish. One may chose potatoes or a simple garden salad. Whatever you chose, Enjoy and Happy Eating!!

Steak and Green Beans

4 Sirloin Steaks
Olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 can of green beans
2 Tbsp Butter
1 slice of turkey bacon, diced
1/4 cup onion, diced
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
Starch of Choice

--> In a small skillet, on medium heat, melt butter; add bacon and onions. Saute for 5 minutes.

-->Preheat oven to Broil. Tenderize steaks, season with Olive oil, salt and pepper.

-->Broil steaks in oven. For rare: 7 minutes on one side, 5 minutes when flipped. For medium: 8 minutes on one side, 6 minutes when flipped. For well done: 9 minutes on one side, 7 minutes on flip side. I like mine rare.

-->While the steaks are broiling, add green beans to skillet. Stir frequently.

-->Pull Steaks from oven when at desired done-ness. Let steaks rest before plating for 2 minutes. This allows the juices to sink in and the steak to be juicy.

Plate and Enjoy with your favorite starch and a glass of Merlot.
